Read the guide →If you are new to custom packaging, read them in order. If you sell into the EU, read the guide to the EU packaging rules as well. The regulation has applied generally since 12 August 2026, and its biggest design changes arrive on 1 January 2030. A pack you design this year may still be in use then, so it is worth designing to the new rules from the start.
When you are ready, the spec builder turns what you have learned into a specification we can quote. Once we have your full specifications, you get a written quote within 48 hours, and a physical sample to approve before any full run. Our minimum is 10,000 pieces per design, and you can see what each package includes on the packages page.
The EasyPak team in Qormi, Malta, writes these guides from the questions UK and EU brands bring to us. Where a guide relies on a standard or a regulation, it lists the source at the end, so you can check it yourself. They are general information for buyers, not legal or technical certification advice.
Are the EasyPak guides free?
Yes. The guides, the spec builder, the glossary and the EU packaging rules checklist are free to use, with no sign-up.
I am new to custom packaging. Where should I start?
Start with the guide to choosing a box style, then board grades and flutes, then print and finishes. The briefing guide pulls them together, and the spec builder turns your answers into a specification we can quote.
Do the guides cover UK rules as well as EU rules?
The packaging regulation guide covers the EU. If you sell into the UK, check the UK's own packaging rules separately. The guides on formats, board, print and briefing apply wherever you sell.
Tell us about your product and we'll recommend the right solution, with a clear, no-obligation quote. Once we have your full specifications, you get a written quote within 48 hours.
